( interview hakuouki ssl drama )

The strong point of the [ Hakuouki SSL ~ Sweet School Life ~ ] drama is being close!
Nakamura Yuuichi, Someya Toshiyuki et al - main cast interview

TV drama [ Hakuouki SSL ~ sweet school life ~ ] by TOKYO MX2 starts broadcasting on september 24th 2015 (Thursday). An interview with the six that serve as the main cast!

This interview is with Yuuichi Nakamura (playing Hijikata Toshizou), Toshiyuki Someya (playing Saitou Hajime), Atsushi Kimura (playing Okita Souji), Ishiwatari Mashu (playing Toudou Heisuke), Inagaki Seiya (playing Harada Sanosuke) and Ibuka Katsuhiko (playing Kazama Chikage). As we all talk about the team's strength of "being close", there's a glimpse of the warm actor spirit, and as the laughter doesn't stop it became a lively interview.

From left to right: Atsushi Kimura (playing Okita Souji), Toshiyuki Someya (playing Saitou Hajime), Yuuichi Nakamura (playing Hijikata Toshizou), Ishiwatari Mashu (playing Toudou Heisuke), Ibuka Katsuhiko (playing Kazama Chikage) and Inagaki Seiya (playing Harada Sanosuke).

First of all, please tell me your thoughts from when your appearance in this work was decided.
Nakamura: I was ignorant about the game but since I knew of the name "Hakuouki", I was simply happy from the beginning. Because Hijikata Toshizou was voiced by Miki Shinichiro-san in the original game, there was immediately an uneasiness like "I wonder if I can play such a cool person during the filming in the way Miki-san did..."
Someya: I originally already liked Hakuouki, I've seen the entire anime. That's why I was also going to take a look at the musicals! So when the rol of Saitou in Hakuouki SSL was now decided, since I didn't know SSL it was like "How could that Saitou Hajime from Hakuouki be a student?!", the confusion was honestly bigger than the joy. The story of Hakuouki doesn't have a super happy ending. Although I think that's its charm, when I was reading the script this time, they're alive in modern times, they're going off on a school life.. imagining that, it feels happy. Gradually the joy of playing Saitou Hajime in Hakuouki SSL became bigger.
Kimura: Since I also didn't know about SSL, I played SSL for the first time when the role was decided. Because I knew that Okita Souji is a popular character in Hakuouki, I was really surprised when the role was decided, I couldn't believe it. But gradually happiness has started to fill my heart.
Ishiwatari: To be honest, although at the time of the audition I didn't have any specific role I was going for, when I read the script for the first time I thought something like "this cheerful and mischievous impression, Heisuke, is it?" (laughs) When I was asked at the last audition what role I wanted to play, I answered "although I fit the role of Toudou Heisuke, I want to play the role of Saitou Hajime", it became Heisuke. Rather than calling it pressure, it's more of a pleasure to be playing Heisuke.
Inagaki: Since I haven't played the role of a cool person until now, it's a lot of fun and I became excited! Although I played the game Hakuouki SSL for the first time when the role was decided, it's been absurdely hard! Although I tried a few times to capture (note: as in making a love interest fall for you) with my own strength, since I wasn't able to get a happy ending, I kept at it while reading a walkthrough (laughs).
Ibuka: Kazama Chikage who I play is said to have a similar impression to me....... He's just a little different from the other main characters, doing things in his own way, it's a character who exists in his own world. He's a fascinating character because of it, and because he has a lot of fans, there was a terrible pressure right from the beginning. Although I felt nervous about playing him, when I talked about it with the director during filming, I think I became a very human Kazama Chikage.

Everyone has played the original game, haven't you?
Inagaki: It was seriously difficult to clear it! I finished about two times without anyone giving me a love confession (laughs).
Nakamura: It's difficult, isn't it. I also didn't understand it at all, I had to check up on a walkthrough. I can't do the minigames at all!
Inagaki: If you can't properly clear the minigames, you won't get a proper ending. The first time I played, since I thought I would get love confessions from everyone until the end, I tried to act pleasant to everyone (laughs). Then I didn't get a love confession from anyone! It's no good unless you pick one person, huh.
Nakamura: I have an earphone in when Hijikata is talking, I used it as a reference as to in what way he says those words.
Kimura: I also played the game. Since I played it without knowing about the walkthrough, Inagaki-kun taught me that he was able to play it because of the walkthrough. But it was difficult. The water gun minigame was especially difficult...
Ishiwatari: Since Heisuke is childhood friends with Chizuru-chan there's many scenes together in the game. Because there was a friend-like atmosphere, I used that as a reference. The scene where he rests his head on her lap among others, at those heart-wringing scenes I thought "maybe I'm going to do this too." (laughs)

By the way, what sort of games does everyone usually play?
Ishiwatari: I play a reasonable amount. I really love Destiny on the Playstation 4. I'm honest (laughs). Playing FPS online is also a lot of fun.
Kimura: Although I often download apps, I always uninstall them before long (laughs).
Inagaki: I played "Winning Eleven" a lot. Although I've never been much of a soccer boy (laughs).
Nakamura: We'll come together to play "Winning Eleven" for manly bonding.
Someya: Smash Bros. among other things.
Inagaki: I'm very bad at Smash Bros. (laughs)!
Ibuka: I understand. I'm also really bad (laughs). For now I'm able to manage somehow by playing Kirby (laughs)!

Since Hakuouki SSL is a popular game among games aimed at women, there must also have been pressure. Was there anything in particular you had trouble with while preparing for your roles?
Nakamura: I think Hijikata and I are similar in the way we persist with our feelings..... I had to settle down and become cool, to show Hijikata's charm as a manly man, I became very conscious. The way he comes in contact with people is very strict. Like the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, he's the same as the vice-principal. I felt that I didn't want to pass on showing that side accurately.
Someya: Saitou Hajime is left-handed. Because it wasn't the same as my dominant hand, it was very hard to get used to. I tired to find time to practice left-handedness. After that his taciturnity, because I'm the kind of person who laughs easily, the switchover was very hard (laughs).
Kimura: Since Okita Souji is a very characteristic sort of character with the tone of his voice, way of talking and his behaviour, I was worried about how to play him. I thought it would be better to play him naturally since it's filmed, but I felt it would no longer be Okita that way. I played him through research from when the role was decided and through a lot of discussion with the director.
Ishiwatari: Even though my and Heisuke's personalities are partially similar, it was difficult to play him. I studied how to show Heisuke's brightness.
Inagaki: Harada is like everyone's big brother, there's a gap between his gentlemanly side and his mischievous surface! Anyway, since I wanted to show the the sex appeal that Sanosuke seems to radiate as well, it was difficult to play him. I recorded the voice from the game on my phone, I always studied the way of speaking and intonation the voice actor has. Even so, because the drama exists because of the original work, I thought it was no good if I didn't at least approach it a little. There's feelings of honesty and impulsiveness in the teacher that Sanosuke in SSL is, since that's similar to me, it was fun to play him.
Ibuka: In terms of appearance, it was coming close to the hair color. Since my private nature and Kazama Chikage's character give off the impression of being the exact opposite, I've studied his voice and behaviour in the game. But playing him myself, I wanted to look after the image everyone has of Kazama Chikage, so I played him while being aware of Kazama's unique presence.

So please tell me about an impressive scene of your own role.
Nakamura: Although it's well-known from the game, it's the library scene with Chizuru! Hijikata is really cool. Especially since the library scene was from the first day, it's left the biggest impression on me. The director said that in the scene where I talk to (Katou) Kazuki-kun (playing the role of Kondou Isami) my facial expression has a sense of security. Since Kazuki-kun is very much like a big brother to me, I feel relieved when we're together. It might be about 30-40% Nakamura Yuuichi's facial expression (laughs).
Someya: For me, since I really like Hakuouki, my mind got really tense when I got to wear the Shinsengumi haori in the bakumatsu scene.
Kimura: Okita doesn't like Hijikata-san. He always uses informal speech towards Hijikata and the teachers. In the scene where those two are an united front, he can feel that in some respects he can understand Hijikata-san, that left a very strong impression with me.
Ishiwatari: Since he's the kind of guy to go to school at the last minute, I thought the going to school scene was the most like Toudou Heisuke. After that, since I have co-starred in another work with Shouhei-kun (playing Nagakura Shinpachi), since we could say to each other "we're appearing together again", I was very glad to record scenes together with Shouhei-kun.
Inagaki: The scene where he goes shopping together with Chizuru for the festival is very heart-wringing! There's also the scene returning home from shopping while having a conversation with Hijikata-san, that one is also good.
Ibuka: More than squarreling with the rest of the main cast, because there were many scenes where I was together in the student council room with Amagiri (Nakajima Yoriyuki-san) and Shiranui (Takizawa Inutarou-san), we discussed how to enhance Kazama Chikage with three people. We called the scene where he talks about his incredible love for Chizuru "Kazama Time" (laughs), I especially fussed over that one, please look forward to it!

Are there any highlights other than for your own character?
Nakamura: The scene where Harada talks about his feelings to Hijikata is a highlight, isn't it! Until then I got the impression of an invigorating teacher from Harada, but a different part of that man is seen in that scene.
Inagaki: I liked the scene with Okita and Hijikata. I also liked the scene that's referred to as "I understand it when I look at the answer sheet." The lines were good.
Kimura: Thanks (laughs).
Ishiwatari: There's also the action scene with the bamboo practice swords, that Some-san's Saitou is really cool!
Someya: Thank you very much (laughs).
Ishiwatari: Really cool! Because it's two people lining up, it's a highlight. Everyone is cool in the action.
Ibuka: I had a hard time.....
Nakamura: (looking at Ibuka-san) Without participating in the action (laughs)!
Ibuka: Since I shot many scenes in the student council room, there were few scenes together with everyone else. I wanted to get along well with them more.....
Everyone: We're close, we're close (laughs).
Someya: When we had finished the action overnight, Ibuka-san ended showing up late. Since he showed up with an amazingly nonchalant attitude, I was just a little irritated (laughs).
Nakamura: He has the most strong points, doesn't he (laughs). But since he's very cool like Chikage, it's one of the highlights.
Someya: Yuuichi-kun's feeling of a leader is amazing to me! I thought it was cool how Yuuichi-kun fastened the great individuality of his character's personality.
Inagaki: He acted as the vanguard! I thought it was so cool how he watched your back.
Ibuka: In the scene where I confronted Yuuichi-san, it was really amazing how flames burned inside his eyes! I won't lose!
Nakamura: But I was really desperate to endure it and not laugh (laughs). I didn't assume Ibuka-san was so very unaffected... (laughs). Since we're rivals, there's a scene where we confront each other with words, it ended up interesting.
Ibuka: Sort of like a staring contest, it was a scene where you couldn't help but laugh because you weren't allowed to laugh (laughs).
Nakamura: And it gradually becomes contagious with a large amount of people in a scene.
Kimura: The serious scene has been unwrapped, huh (laughs).

In addition, were there any episodes you had trouble filming?
Nakamura: In SSL Hijikata is the vice-principal. Since it's the sort of position you shouldn't get involved with students in, it was difficult to not be let into the harmonious atmosphere of all the student actors even when I wanted to be let in (laughs).
Someya: Since Saitou doesn't talk a lot, even when there are no lines, "What would Saitou Hajime be thinking of?", I always was having that monologue inside my head. And then Ibuka-kun is a man whose presence causes rain!
Inagaki: That's right. Ibuka-san who plays Kazama is the rain man, Miku-chan who plays Chizuru (Ono Mirai-san) is a woman who makes the weather become sunny when she goes out, it would be very hard if the two switched places (laughs). About that, I don't feel like I had a hard time during filming. Since I'm on good terms with all the co-stars, it was always fun from going to the filming scene to returning home by bus.
Kimura: And then there was a base near the filming location, so it was hard when planes were flying or there was the sound of guns. Because an airplane would fly by during an important scene, or rain would start coming down, more than us the staff had a lot of trouble, didn't they. Although there were a lot of various happenings, the filming itself was always fun.
Ishiwatari: Unlike stage plays there's no practice for filming, since in that place you perform with the instaneous force and the power of imagination, when we finished filming after a while I thought I was glad I got to establish myself more in this sort of way.

I worry about Ibuka-san's rain men episode... (laughs).
Ibuka: I never thought of myself as a rain man before. But when it was my turn to film a scene rain came down, in the end the director and staff realised "Ibuka is a powerful person, huh?" and my heart started to buzz (laughs).
Someya: It kept being amazing. While Ibuka-san was in the waiting room it came light rain, and everyone said "good, good!", and when it was his turn to appear it would turn into full blown rain (laughs).
Ibuka: The memories of rain are strong from the second half of shooting, huh.
Someya: Since whenever he thought "don't rain" rain would come down, I told him he should pray for rain instead (laughs).

Since this work is a school story, how was it for everyone to wear school uniforms?
Inagaki: That's so, isn't it...
Nakamura: No, I didn't wear it (laughs). Since we're both teachers (laughs).

As to Nakamura-san and Inagaki-san's teacher roles, I want to ask you how it was to play a teacher (laughs).
Nakamura: As a matter of fact, this is the first teacher role I've had. At first I was nervous, but since everyone is wearing a school uniform and I'm wearing a suit, I naturally became a teacher (laughs). The costume helped. After that I always have to make sure to not forget that I'm Hijikata.
Inagaki: Although Harada is a teacher, he's not a teacher like Hijikata. Since it's an atmosphere similar to take of an older brother's to the students, I really didn't expect to be called "teacher!"
Ishiwatari: I'd say Heisuke is the most student-like in this, it's the feeling of being the youngest. Since I'm still a little bit like a kid myself, it was very easy to do. Yuuichi-kun really feels like a teacher, this one (Inagaki-san) doesn't feel as much like a teacher compared to that (laughs).
Inagaki: There's not much of a competition, huh.
Ishiwatari: Yeah. I wondered if Kazama was a student? (laughs)
Ibuka: Although Kazama is more or less a student, he's different from the other students uniform-wise.. First of all, the pure white uniform was a very conscious decision as to not disgrace himself (laughs). Actually, the feeling of "don't disgrace yourself, don't be in high spirits" became material that brought me closer to Kazama. In fact, because it's been established that Kazama, who's the same age as Hijikata-san, comes to school to look for his bride, I thought it would be alright to not play him very student-like.
Kimura: My (Okita's) uniform is always a cardigan... Since there were always school uniforms in my actual school days, I felt like I was wearing normal clothes.
Nakamura: Wasn't it fresh? You probably also tightened your tie as a student.
Kimura: That's true, in the beginning I tightened it. Though I think I was able to manage somehow because the costume had buttons (laughs).
Ibuka: But when you were a student, didn't you want to have a blazer as your school uniform?
Ishiwatari: Because it was always a blazer, the school uniform was good.
Someya: When I was in junior high school, the school uniform was a blazer. Since plain clothes were okay at school, it was fine to wear whatever, it was stylish to wear the uniform of a different school (laughs).
Everyone: What's that! (laughs)
Ibuka: How did you buy one?
Someya: I got one as a hand-me-down from my brother..... I wore the uniform from a different school that was a hand-me-down from my older brother. Since I've actually had quite a break from wearing a school uniform, Saitou Hajime's way of dressing in Hakuouki SSL felt very stiff (laughs). Because the back seam was always straightened. Although I wore a school uniform at the filming, I want to do a teacher role as well.
Nakamura: Since Some-san has a very composed atmosphere, it gives off the feeling of being the same age when he wears the school uniform (laughs). When he wears the armband of the discipline committee, he seems extra serious.
Someya: In the first place Saitou doesn't seem like a student (laughs).

By the way, if Someya-san were the teacher, what kind of subject do you think he would teach?
Kimura: It's definitely math!
Ishiwatari: I think it would be science.
Inagaki: Me too!
Someya: Actually I was aiming at being a Japanese language teacher.
Kimura: So that's it! That's why your penmanship is beautiful. And you know Kanji well. I see!

The basis of Hakuouki SSL is Chizuru enrolling as the only girl in a boys' school.... If this story had a reverse pattern and you all would be enrolled in an all-girls' school, what kind of school life do you think it would be?
Nakamura: I think you would have to look very effiminate (laughs).
Inagaki: But really thinking about a realistic story, it would be really intense!
Ishiwatari: Scary, scary!
Kimura: First of all, I don't know if I would have anyone to talk with.
Inagaki: You can't only be on good terms with the teacher, right.
Someya: I seriously give off an aura of not wanting to approach (laughs). I think I would try to blend in.
Ibuka: Wouldn't you also always be alone on field trips and the like?
Someya: It's totally fine.
Ibuka: What would you do when on field trips and the like you can't form a group with anyone?
Someya: I think I'd be silent and do it by myself. It's totally fine.
Ibuka: But everyone is the enemy, right? They would say "ah, this person is doing it by himself"? Then what about P.E.?
Someya: Probably no group exercises. How about you? Atsushi-san.
Kimura: It'd be impossible on the long term. Maybe for one or two weeks...
Ishiwatari: Although I think in my imagination that it'll be fine, I'd actually be scared in those circumstances... Although Some-san says that he'd display an aura that tells people to not approach, I think I'd instead try to be friendly, I think I'd pay attention to everyone else. I would also wish for it to be for a short term (laughs).
Ibuka: All my childhood friends were girls. So I'm used to an enviroment of girls, I was after all the only man in the group and I thought it was intense, maybe like that time, I could weather with that insight of the boss of the women for a period of 3 years (laughs).
Inagaki: Wouldn't you stop understanding it if the boss would change?
Ibuka: You change too yourself if you stick around like that (laughs).

Even from this short time I can feel everyone's great teamwork. What does everyone think the strengths of the Hakuouki SSL team are?
Kimura: It's very like that, huh..
Everyone: What?!
Kimura: The strong point is that we don't put on the characters. Everyone. So it gives a sense of unity when we all come out as each of the characters.
Ishiwatari: Not even just as the characters, but even in private we all have a very different personality... it's that sort of thing (laughs).
Kimura: When we suddenly come together as a unity. ...... There's no more from me (laughs).
Nakamura: But still, I think the best thing is that we're all on good terms.
Inagaki: It's the same for me.
Ibuka: I also agree (laughs).
Nakamura: Because there's the stage play too, to intensify the team work from the drama, it's a good thing that we can challenge it in the environment of a stage play.

Because of that, where there chances to become closer?
Nakamura: Everyone already became friends at the first script reading (laughs). I thought everyone was on good terms, and that I was all by myself at the script reading... (laughs)
Kimura: I thought at first that Yuuichi-kun was a tough person.
Inagaki: I was scared at first.
Nakamura: I had such an impression at first because I was really shy, but I was gradually saved by Kimura-san and Inagaki-san (laughs). From there we've had various conversations.
Inagaki: When I was eating lunch in the middle of swordfighting practice, Yuuichi-kun was eating amazingly far away (laughs). So I called out "Yuuichi-kun, we're eating over here!" (laughs)
Nakamura: I got an invite from a younger person (laughs). Although it's normal for me as an older person to say "let's eat together", I haven't been fussed about by a younger person yet (laughs).
Inagaki: Rather than fussing about you, I just wanted to talk normally! (laughs)
Nakamura: But overall everyone was quick to befriend.
Ibuka: Since we were numerous times in the location bus, there was less distance between everyone. Since it was a natural sort of environment to befriend each other, I was also saved. At first Yuuchi-kun tried to sleep a lot (laughs).
Kimura: We got along because I also tried to sleep (laughs).
Nakamura: These two (Kimura-san and Inagaki-san) would wake me up! (laughs) But I remember when I first met Some-san, there was the bath yukata (laughs).
Inagaki: Eh, what sort of thing!? (laughs)
Nakamura: Because the first meeting was during a stopover from the filming, Some-san had returned to the hotel earlier. When I arrived later, just then Some-san appeared having come just out of the bath in a yukata. It was amazingly sexy (laughs).
Ibuka: It wasn't a bathrobe?
Nakamura: It wasn't a bathrobe!
Someya: I didn't have it there, such is life (laughs).
Nakamura: But after that the filming became just a little bit more heart-pounding (laughs).

I think you can see the hot side of everyone around here... But what I wonder about is why everyone aimed for becoming an actor.
Nakamura: When I was 10 years old, I thought I wanted to become an idol rather than an actor. At that time I had an opportunity to audition for a movie, it's very annoying that I let such a good opportunity slip by. I think I want an opportunity to face more challenges.
Someya: My incentive was the movie "Water Boys" which was very popular when I was a junior high school student, "I wonder if I couldn't become an actor", I thought, that was the moment I became interested in the entertainment industry. When I started college with the intention of becoming a teacher, I started being an actor just to satisfy my curiosity. Gradually the amount of work increased, so there came a time where I had to decide whether I wanted to become an actor or a teacher, and I decided to take the plunge and become an actor.
Kimura: Whether I could go far in the entertainment industry, there's a strong feeling of being aware of your limits. From the beginning it wasn't clear that I wanted to become an actor, and when I studied for plays I noticed what kind of person I had to be to become an actor, at that time I thought I wanted to become an actor for sure.
Ishiwatari: As a student I occasionally had the opportunity to perform in a play in front of the whole school, I was very popular after playing the role of a girl names "Mashuko". (laughs) Originally my dream was to become a soccer player. But when I had to give up on that dream and began to study acting out of curiosity, when I received the shock that there was no "right" thing like that to do in this world, I think that's the first time I became an actor. Maybe it's thanks to Mashuko-chan that I'm now in the world of acting (laughs).
Inagaki: When I was in elementary school I longed to be part of a male idol group, I've always wanted to become a performer. While others wanted to become firefighters and police officers, elementary school teachers too, I chose the way of the actors since I thought that if you're an actor, you can become anything.
Ibuka: When I was in college, I became a finalist of the Junon Superboy Contest, I got an offer from an office. Since I originally wanted to be a teacher I tried to acquire a teacher's license to become one, I was really worried about becoming an actor. But because not everyone gets used to being an actor, I went for becoming an actor and thought "let's take advantage of the chance I've gotten!"

And what is everyone aiming for as an actor?
Nakamura: It's also my challenge right now, but firmly adapting to every role I receive, I want to become an actor that has built up a name so that people will say "that role was Nakamura Yuuichi!"
Someya: If I'd have to say it right now, it's that I want to do a wide range of stage plays and filmings. My favourite actor is Fujiwara Tatsuya-san. I think it's amazing to have the ability to focus on a play as if it's about whether you live or die. I like to notice that!
Kimura: I usually appear as a fluffy person... But actually I don't think that I'm like that at all (laughs). People usually think of me as Kimura who can make that face, it would be great if my appearance in a work would surprise people. It's unpleasant when it's said "I can only do this role." I want to do various roles, I want to be like a chameleon actor.
Ishiwatari: I want to become someone with presence. Like Oguri Jun-san and Okada Masaki-san, I want to become very interesting too, I want to become very cool, someone who can make people very sad too, I long for that.
Inagaki: I want to become the sort of actor that makes people wonder "which is the real Inagaki Seiya?" Doing a variety of roles, I want everyone to know me as a lot of people.
Ibuka: I want to play multiple roles, because there's various opportunities to play neutral roles and visual-like roles, I want to become an actor that earns sympathy from both men and women. Because of that I want to become a person who has an effect on others, I always want to have that sort of presence.

So to go back to the story of the drama, please frankly tell me about the highlights of the drama.
Nakamura: Since every character has heart-wrenching feelings, I think it'll be enjoyable to watch the beautiful men scramble for the single girl!
Someya: Because there are a lot of bittersweet scenes of student days, I hope you can enjoy reliving the memories of that time. Because there is a bakumatsu opening scene was well, I think it'll surely be enjoyable as well for the people who love Hakuouki.
Kimura: Since we've certainly tightened the foreshadowing in the last broadcast, it'll diminish the fun to miss an episode (laughs). I hope you watch it all and that you'll be able to enjoy watching it until the end!
Ishiwatari: The tempo is like a sketch comedy, it's always absurdly funny! The quarreling scene between Heisuke and Okita and Hijikata is really charming, because there are many men present, I think the good relationships between the co-stars also shows in the work.
Inagaki: The highlight is the way everyone approaches Chizuru. Since everyone's individual way of approaching her is different, I think you can enjoy it. Because Harada is a teacher and Chizuru-chan is a student, the performance has really become heart-pounding. In fact, the time of the Shinsengumi and the modern day era become linked... Because I want to surprise everyone, I think I'll keep it a secret here for now (laughs).
Ibuka: All of us, since we've studied the characters, all contended to receive the love during filming. I think the work can be transmitted well to fans of the original game, I think it's become something everyone can enjoy. Since I've earnestly played Kazama Chikage, please love it without fail!

Finally, for all the fans that are looking forward to this, please tell us the highlights of each character!
Nakamura: Since I've been challenged by a diet in order to play Hijikata, I'd like to receive that enthusiasm!
Someya: Since I've also been challenged by studying for the role of Saitou Hajime in Hakuouki, I'd like it if you could also watch the small scenes.
Kimura: Okita has a unique personality, since that's often said I paid a lot of attention while preparing for the role to the characteristics of his voice. Because I think it will be transmitted well while watching, please look forward to it.
Ishiwatari: Because there's a lot of scenes where everyone's good relationships show, please notice it without fail. Since it's a drama with a lot of small things, as Heisuke I wish for you to notice that.
Inagaki: In any case, these scenes are enjoyable because of everyone's good relationships, I think the fun relationships between the cast members are really shown in the drama. Because everyone's way of approaching Chizuru varies, it's become a very amusing thing, I want you to watch it for sure. Please support us.
Ibuka: Although it's been difficult to play the role of Kazama that's so far from how I privately am, I can catch a glimpse of myself in it, and I played my own interpretation of Kazama. Because the love of the cast, staff and everyone else has been put into this work, I would be glad if you could enjoy it.

The older brother-like Nakamura-san and Someya-san, the mischievous Ishiwatari-san and Inagaki-san, Kimura-san and Ibuka-san who give off a unique aura... and the outstanding balance of the six people. These smiling faces even during the photoshoot!
