( interview tomoru & daisuke - cast size summer special 2015 )

From the drama at the beginning of this year, and then the performances of Hisui no Shou, the Messiah series has achieved great success. From the new Sakura cadets the pair is formed of Shirasaki Mamoru played by Tomoru Akazawa and Yuri Kaito played by Hirose Daisuke. We've heard from these two people who are usually good friends about the next play, Hagane no Shou, and then about each other as well.

What we want to show is the story of Messiah moving more and more this year

Messiah is very energetic this year.

Tomoru: There's the drama Eisei no Shou, the play Hisui no Shou, and now in September there's Hagane no Shou, huh.
Daisuke: It's progressed a lot, hasn't it.

At the end of the drama we saw Mamoru (Akazawa) and Kaito (Hirose) spontaneously become Messiah.

Tomoru: I wonder how the two of them will deepen their relationship after this, we've had various conversations about that too.
Daisuke: Hisui no Shou was the graduation of Eiri and the others, it was the big theme was well. In any case, as to the progression of the story of Messiah and the amount of information as well in the recent works, it's become a lot for sure.

With the graduation of Eiri and Haku, you've become the two people carrying the next era of Messiah.

Daisuke: It's carried by four people. With Mamiya (Someya Toshiyuki) and Ariga (Izawa Yuuki) as the axis, we were put together in a group of 4 Sakura members. There's also the new cadet (Sugie Taishi) and the Nothern Union, Amane (Tamaki Yuki) and Misu (Nakamura Ryusuke). I think the story will rapidly move again.

How do you represent the world of Messiah in practice? I think that there are many people who like the stinging between being a boy and being a spy.

Tomoru: Although I thought at the beginning that there were many difficult technical terms, when I performed there was also the depth of the story, it's interesting. Before we became Sakura, before we got into the Church, there was Shibi no Shou that we performed. That's how we calmly got used to the world of Messiah.
Daisuke: Because we play people who just exist in the world of Messiah, because it's the ordinary everyday state of things for them, I felt nervous about getting a handle on all the difficult terminology. We had trouble expressing that ordinary everyday state of things. If you lose focus even just a little bit, there's a feeling of being left behind by the speed. But I don't think people realised that sort of thing during the play.

You two are partnered as Messiah in this work. Since there were a lot more people like Eiri and the others in the series until the previous work, how does it feel when it's just the four of you with Someya-san and Izawa-san this time around?

Daisuke: It's noisy. Yuuki is noisy.
Tomoru: Yuuki's persistently been doing imitations that aren't even close. Because he's been doing it so often it isn't close to anything anymore, we don't have any comments to make anymore (laughs). Some-chan has been in unusual high spirits. Even though he's usually quiet and gives off a flat feeling, he's been in high spirits.
Daisuke: It's been fun, hasn't it. Very much so.
Tomoru: Because it felt like we were properly standing on stage as four Messiah last time, from now on our relationship will deepen more. I think the development will swing that way.
Daisuke: Speaking of passing time, Tomoru-kun and I often talk about this work and these roles. We also practice the action together and talk a lot during breaks, we want to put out a feeling of Messiah that's unique to us.

Then I think you must have travel plans this summer to deepen your bond as Messiah!

Tomoru: An island is good. I want to go to the south.
Daisuke: I think the sea is nice.
Tomoru: Going out is nice, isn't it. I want to go somewhere.
Daisuke: Not when I invite you.
Tomoru: Ah.. That is!!
Daisuke: (staring silently)
Tomoru: Staring at me!!

A scandal where Akazawa-san refused your invite to go out. Is that the truth?!

Tomoru: That's not the case (laughs).
Daisuke: I invited him to go to the Noto Peninsula in the morning.
Tomoru: At six in the morning? You contacted me the day before, asking "what are you doing tomorrow?" Since I said I was available, it turned into the sort of talk like "then let's go out a little bit tomorrow afternoon." We talked about meeting at a nearby location at that time. From there on I casually watched a DVD, and I didn't sleep until the morning. When I thought there was no way I'd get up, I got "good morning" on LINE and a request to play a game even if I hadn't gotten up. We can play if you didn't sleep early, how about the fishing pond? It was that sort of proposal, from that guy---.
Daisuke: "But I want to go to the Ishikawa Prefecture," he sent to me. He ignored my joke about the fishing pond. I said that if he didn't want to play, I wanted to try fishing at the Ishikawa Prefecture. If you can't go to the fishing pond since you didn't sleep, you can't go to the Ishikawa Prefecture since you didn't sleep (emphasized)!
Tomoru: But I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself in any case if we didn't go to the Ishikawa Prefecture with a perfect setup. It isn't a day trip, and we didn't have any solid plans, so I wanted to stay somewhere local. At that time, I had work to do the next morning. And I thought that if I wouldn't be able to go back that night so I could be in Tokyo at six in the morning the next day, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the trip.
Daisuke: I said that if Tomoru-kun just went, he could take the bullet train back on the same day. I was stopped.
Tomoru: Why (laughs)!! So you would stay? The two of us are going to the Ishikawa Prefecture, so why would only I go back to Tokyo on the bullet train (laughs)!
Daisuke: Tomoru-kun is selfish.
Tomoru: That's wrong. I'm not (laughs).

Are these Messiah alright...?

Daisuke: It's always this sort of feeling. But I wonder if this sort of feeling maybe doesn't suit Mamoru and Kaito.
Tomoru: We're good Messiah.
