Miyazaki Shuuto x Izawa Yuuki, secret stories about their communal life, "Always hugging"
The talk with actors who shine on the stage but are really close when you meet them (or see them) for real, the "live meet ikemen talk," the series commonly known as "Live ike talk."
For this second round Miyazaki Shuuto-san named Izawa Yuuki-san! Please enjoy the talk you can only find here in full.
*In this article we've published the dialogue we couldn't put in Weekly Josei-san (the February 2nd 2017 issue). If you want to read more, please check out the magazine too!

Although Miyazaki-san seems to like broad-minded women, do you think that sort of type fits him?
Izawa: Yeah. I agree with that.
Then do you know what type Izawa-san likes?
Miyazaki: I think I probably know everything. (laughs) It's slender people, right?
Izawa: Since I have a height of about 180 cm, I thought that someone who is taller than that would be good. That must be why, roughly speaking, he got the impression that it's slender people. (laughs) Personality-wise I think it would be nice if it was someone who supports others. A person who can somehow take care of you physically and emotionally would be nice.
So a whimsical person or a reserved person would be fine?
Izawa: Yeah.
Miyazaki: Is that so?
Izawa: Fufufu. That's right. (laughs)
Miyazaki: Ahahahaha!
There don't seem to be any secrets, huh? Do you know things about each other? (laughs)
Miyazaki: I know things.
Izawa: He knows me to the point that if some incident happens and we talk about it, he can consult me as well. Even at work, he consulted me about various private matters.
Miyazaki: I was consulted. (laughs)
Although you have a trusting relationship now, almost like being family, how was your first impression of each other?
Miyazaki: I thought he sure was a handsome guy~.
Izawa: Since I saw him on stage before we met and knew that he was part of various productions, I thought he sure had a steady spirit. I thought he was great at meeting people and had good communication skills with co-stars. Since he seemed like the kind of person who easily observed his surroundings, I thought he must make good use of that.
Miyazaki: (laughs) When I'm wondering about people I'm co-starring with for the first time, I investigate them before we meet. I came across a video of Izawa's paste song from AMNESIA. I really liked that Izawa Yuuki singing that pasta song so much. That's why I got a strong feeling when I was finally able to meet you. This really is the guy from the famous musical piece?
Izawa: Ahahaha. Although it's a 2.5D stage play, there was a song that just told you about various kinds of pasta.
Miyazaki: Yeah. Although the lyrics just list various kinds of pasta, you were singing it so skillfully and in a charming way, so it was comical. (laughs) I became a fan before I even met you. I still watch that video.
I heard that after that, during Messiah - Hagane no Shou, Izawa-san lived in Miyazaki-san's house for two months, how did it end up that way?
Miyazaki: I simply invited him because I thought that it was easier to go back and forth to the practice place from my house than from Izawa's house.
Izawa: Although I thought, "Huh?! Would that really be alright?" I was grateful for your kindness. I really got helped by you during that time. While we were eating, I got advice about the play from him.
What was life like like that?
Miyazaki: We were always together, huh?
Izawa: It was a cycle of waking up early, going to practice, coming back home and going to sleep. And we bought Origin lunch.
Miyazaki: Yeah. We had a Choco Choco Origin party, right? We bought a lot of side dishes so we'd have enough to eat. (laughs)
Izawa: We really had an Origin party. We also made breakfast.
Miyazaki: Ah, soba, right? We made soup stock too.
Izawa: I only came to my own home once in those two months.
Miyazaki: He got a phone call from his lonely little sister.
Izawa: Fufufu. My then 15 year old little sister asked "when are you coming home?" So I told her "I'm busy for a little while so I can't come home~" (laughs)
Miyazaki: They have a good relationship, right~ The Izawa siblings. I stayed overnight once at the Izawa household, and while those two were lying on the sofa together watching TV while covered with a blanket, I saw them talking like they were very close. "What's with these siblings??" I was so surprised. I've never seen siblings that were that close before. (laughs)
Izawa: Hmm~. We're close. Usually I go to places together with her. She's about 173 cm tall, so she was mistaken as my girlfriend one time. (laughs)
Didn't you two also go to Disneyland together when you had a break one time?
Izawa: The first day of practice turned out to be a day off. At that time Akazawa Tomoru was all alone by himself too. Until about 3 o' clock in the afternoon we sat in the room asking ourselves what to do. After saying, "How about Disney?" "That's right!", we arrived there 40 minutes later.
Miyazaki: Moreover, on the day before that you took along a lot of rice balls with you and say "let's eat them during practice", right?
Izawa: That's right. I took those along and we ate them in the car.
Miyazaki: When we entered, we were all excited since we were at Disney, so we wanted to take a commemorative photograph. So I asked an older girl near us, "Sorry! Could you please take a picture?" But we didn't think of the people who knew us. (laughs) So a flock of high school girls came running at us.
Izawa: It was overwhelming.
Miyazaki: But it was also a lot of fun, right? We went on Big Thunder too...
Izawa: You can ride anything you want to ride. Going to Disney Land with three guys was terribly fun.
Don't you guys have fights?
Miyazaki: We don't fight, right.
Izawa: Although there's nothing to fight over, when I'm 100% feeling bad, I'm told "you're acting different, aren't you!" and I genuinely apologize right away.
Izawa-san's love for Miyazaki-san feels strong. (laughs) What do you two like about each other though?
Miyazaki: Ahahahaha!
Izawa: I think chivalrous men like him are attractive from the perspective of men. Something like wanting to follow them. Since I'm a kouhai. I think there are many people who respect him as both an actor and a person, even among actors and friends who aren't necessarily the same age.
Miyazaki: I'm really thankful.
What is your favourite thing about Izawa-san?
Miyazaki: Hmm, although it's very simple (laughs), he tackles his work very seriously and his personality is very delicate. He doesn't say "oh well," and he will persue something all the way if he doesn't understand it yet. Although I think, "You're so skilled in singing and dancing and action, moreso than most other people, what are you so worried about?", he still worries more than other people. That part charms me as an actor. And he usually knows a lot of places with food good that I like. (laughs)
Izawa: It's Miyazaki Shuuto's eating log, after all. (laughs)
Miyazaki: But it's a likeable place, right? At the place I just happened to go to drink, Izawa also came there with a different friend, so I was watching them the whole time. (laughs)
Izawa: I couldn't find him. I thought I had been looking there the whole time already until I noticed him. (laughs)
Do you think there's surprising aspects about each other only you know?
Miyazaki: Although he was staying at my place for two months, he always gave the spot in the bed to me. Even though he's a guy who's frequently clinging to me, he always slept on the couch. That was a little surprising. No matter how close you are with someone, it feels like you still can't help but give in to others a lot, huh.
Izawa: Although Shuuto-kun said "go to bed," I can really sleep anywhere, so the couch is fine with me. I think that Shuuto-kun has to lie down on bed and relax in order to get rid of his tiredness. Although I'm not sure if it's some surprising aspect to him, Shuuto-kun is very tidy. He also washes black, white and gray clothes seperately. It's very methodical. Even though I just wash everything together at once. (laughs)
Miyazaki: Ahahaha. When it comes to laundry, maybe. I also seperate my T-shirts for practicing and my T-shirts for casual wearing. Because the detergent I use for those is different.
Izawa: He really is like a housewife.
Miyazaki: Only Izawa knows about the way I wash stuff. (laughs)

What do you respect about each other as actors?
Izawa: A while ago I went to see Tsukakouhei-san's production "Retired Lily", and since I have never done any kind of action with a very heated up character or a character with some kind of unique speed, it was regrettable to me that Shuuto-kun got to do it before me. But I simply respected it and thought, "I wonder if I could say those kind of long lines so quickly~." Since it was so frustrating to me that he was able to show that kind of amazing acting, I just thought about how annoyed I was when I went home. (laughs) I was really just jealous.
Miyazaki: I always feel like I'm watching overwhelming blooming. It's visually captivating. And his great singing, dancing and action skills are an overwhelming weapon as well. On top of that, he's the most serious and diligent when it comes to tackling a play. He conveys the feeling that he really loves the play a lot to a point that it's very frightening.
Although "Akuto" that he did at Za Koenji was a straightforward play without dancing or anything of the sort, he did it really well. Even though it was a pretty heavy work, he seriously tackled it and digged deep into his role. When I saw it, I thought that Izawa Yuuki genuinely is a likeable actor. But I also thought, "even though they aren't in this production, he can still do singing and dancing and action on top of it?!"
What kind of play would you want to do the next time you two co-star?
Miyazaki: I would want to do something together no matter what. I'd want to make eye contact with Izawa on the stage while we have a serious conversation.
Izawa: Yeah. If we two can't do that, I'd like to do something like a straight comedy as well.
Miyazaki: Sounds great! What a stupid guy~ (laughs) Wouldn't something like "Dangerous Detective" be good?
Izawa: Ahaha. "Two foolish detectives, let's go!" That sort of thing. That'd be great!
Miyazaki: A buddy sort of thing. That might be a whole lot of fun.
Once again, what kind of existence are you to each other?
Izawa: Shuuto-kun is a person like Dragon Ball's Goku. I'm relieved that he's there. I think he's entirely different when he's at work. When he spots you, he'd probably come over to hug you. "Let's ramp up the tension, alright!" That sort of feeling.
Miyazaki: Izawa is... Until now there haven't been any other people at all who I was worried about. And there hasn't been anyone who was as willing to lend a hand when there's something you want to do.
Although it seems you two haven't been able to go somewhere together recently, what do you want to do in the future?
Izawa: I want to go take photos. Shuuto-kun can be the subject. I want to go to a place like a dirty alleyway or an abandoned building and want to make interesting attractive photos.
Miyazaki: Something like Gunkanjima would be good, right? This guy here suits concrete.
Izawa: What's this about suiting or not suiting concrete? Am I an actor made of concrete? (laughs)
Miyazaki: When I look at Instagram, I often see you taking pictures with concrete as the background. (laughs)
Izawa: Ahaha. But you never press the like button.
Miyazaki: I don't press it. (laughs) Since they aren't better than the mackerel.
Izawa: The mackerel was pretty good~.
Miyazaki: When I was looking at Instagram that made me laugh, so I pressed the like button right away. (laughs)
Izawa: Since you could only see the face when you got into the mackerel cartoony costume, I put it on, slowly opened it and then closed it again with an expressionless face. I took a video of it. That's the one thing that got him to press the like button. I was glad.
(note: in case you don't remember, yuuki is talking about this video.)
Miyazaki: If it isn't better than that, I won't press the like button.
Izawa: No way~. Isn't that unreasonable~?
Miyazaki: I press the like button when it comes to other people though. I'm only this strict with Izawa. (laughs)
Izawa: Ahahahaha! I'll do my best at Instagram so I can receive likes.

Special Q&A (Izawa Yuuki edition)
What animal would you compare Miyazaki-san to? And why?
Izawa: A slightly old golden retriever. Puppies that are 1 to 2 years old are in high spirits, right, and they bark like crazy when they want to go on walks. But as they become a little more adult, they turn into calm dogs that are rarely agitated. Even when you stroke it, it'll just lie there motionlessly and get used to it. That sort of feeling seems like him. (laughs) Because he's very calm and mature like an adult, even when I one-sidedly cling to him all the time, he just reacts with a "what's with that~" and accepts it.
What is your fetish?
Izawa: It's legs. A person with fair legs. For example, when I see someone who can wear stretch jeans or slim jeans nicely, I think they're good-looking. I like jeans more than mini skirts. I like a simple attire like jeans with a white V-neck shirt. And the hair. Although I don't care whether it's long or short, but I think that people with clean hair have a fresh feeling about them. If you're talking about fetishes, it's those kind of things.
What are you addicted to right now?
Izawa: Face packs, weight training and modelling in front of the camera. And Othello! Although I started playing it because of a mobile game, at one point I just really wanted to play Othello. At first I just placed my pieces without thinking, but to some extent the computer always made the same moves. Even on level 9, the strongest level. So I was winning. But when I'm playing with a friend or the computer is different, I can't win. I hate to lose (laughs), so I got addicted to it. It's now at a ridiculous level. I watch videos to find the surefire way to win. I'm watching all sorts of methods.
As to face packs, since I have very dry skin, I thought I should take care of it daily during winter. I asked a friend of mine who went to Korea to buy packs for me. The snail pack is great.
